WHAT IS NARATION?

Narratio comes from the Latin word for narration - the act of telling a story. I added my name to it, because every story we tell carries a part of who we are.

For me, it describes something photography is often missing: the difference between making good photographs and creating something that actually has meaning.

Photography isn't about collecting photographs. It's about discovering stories.

A photograph can capture a moment. But a story is built from the relationship between moments - what you choose to show, what you leave out, what you place next to something else, and how the images work together.

NARATION is about turning observation into story.

It is about learning to see, to choose, to connect, and ultimately to narrate through images.

During the workshop, we won't simply walk through a city looking for photographs. We'll look for stories - sometimes obvious, sometimes hidden in details, gestures, spaces, contrasts and unexpected encounters.

We'll explore how individual photographs can become part of something larger, using photographs, complementary images and video to create a visual narrative that feels coherent, personal and alive.
