Photography isn't about collecting photographs.
It's about discovering stories.

You don't leave with a collection of images.
You leave with a story.

This isn't a workshop about how to take better photographs.

It's about how to see, how to choose, and how to build a story through images - using photographs, complementary frames and video to create something coherent, personal and alive.

Because a good photograph can stop a moment.

A story can make us remember it.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

NARATION is for photographers who want to go beyond taking good photographs and learn how to create meaningful visual stories.

It's for you if:

• you already know the basics of photography and don't need another technical course

• you walk through a city and feel there are stories everywhere, but don't always know how to approach them

• you want to improve your observation, composition and visual thinking

• you want to photograph people and places without staging them

• you have hundreds of photographs but struggle to turn them into a coherent story

• you want to create stronger portfolio posts, reels, photo essays or magazines stories

• you're interested in documentary, street, travel or editorial photography & motion

• you want personal feedback rather than another generic online tutorial

• you want to develop your own visual voice, rather than follow photography trends

WHO IS IT NOT FOR?

NARATION is probably not for you if:

• you're looking for a camera/settings masterclass

• you want a list of street photography tricks

• you're primarily interested in gear

• you expect to be told exactly where and when to press the shutter

• you're looking for presets or a formula for viral photographs

You don't need better gear.
You need to see differently.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A DAY OF WALKING, OBSERVING, PHOTOGRAPHING AND THINKING DIFFERENTLY ABOUT THE CITY.

NARATION is not a technical photography course. Anyway, I’ll show you some tips and tricks i’ve learned in the past 15 years of playing this game.

You won't spend the day talking about camera settings or memorizing rules.

You can find rules and blueprints everywhere.
What you can't download is a way of seeing.

Instead, we'll spend the day outside, working with real situations and learning to recognize stories in what is already happening around us.

SEE DIFFERENTLY

Learn to slow down and recognize moments, relationships, details, patterns and visual connections that are easy to miss.

PHOTOGRAPH WITH INTENTION

Move beyond simply reacting to what you see. Explore how light, context, composition, distance and timing can change the meaning of an image.

FIND THE STORY

Discover how individual photographs can become something more: a visual narrative with a beginning, a rhythm, a sense of place and a point of view. And a very authentic complementary in motion touch.

PHOTOGRAPHY & FILM

We'll walk through the city and photograph & film continuously but with intention, working through practical exercises and real situations rather than staged scenarios.

Bring your camera and a spare battery. Bring your smartphone. Be ready to look.

GET PERSONAL FEEDBACK

Throughout the day, we'll look at your photographs, discuss your choices and identify what makes an image work - and what could make it stronger.

Not a generic critique. A conversation about your way of seeing.

BUILD YOUR STORY

By the end of the workshop, you'll work towards a small, coherent body of images. Not simply a folder full of photographs.

A story.

WHAT YOU'LL CREATE

By the end of the day, you won't just have photographs and short films of the city.

You'll have the beginning of a visual story.

A small body of images built intentionally - with a sense of place, characters, details, moments and rhythm.

And if you choose to continue with NARATION CURATIO the following day, we'll take that story one step further: selecting, editing and shaping it into something you can actually publish.

NARATION CURATIO

THE STORY DOESN'T END WHEN THE CAMERA GOES BACK IN THE BAG.

Optional · Limited places · Workshop participants only

CURATIO is a personal editing and storytelling session designed for those who want to take the images they created during NARATION and turn them into something they can share.

Together we'll work on:

• selecting the strongest images

• creating a coherent sequence

• finding the story inside the photographs & short films

• choosing the right opening image

• combining stills and motion when appropriate

• shaping the story for a social media post, reel or photo essay

• developing the idea into a portfolio blog post, if that's where the story belongs

I’ll showcase my editing workflow, no secrets, no red lines.

You don't need to know beforehand what you want to publish.

We'll discover that together.

The first day is about making the photographs.

The second is about discovering what they have to say.

WHAT TO BRING

There is no required or specific best ultimate camera or lens.

Bring the equipment you know and feel comfortable with. The workshop is about how you see and tell a story, not about having the latest gear.

If you have them, you're welcome to bring additional tools such as:

• filters (CPL or ND)

• a small tripod and a microphone (not mandatory)

• Bring your smartphone, too.

We'll be moving through the city, looking for stories, details and unexpected moments, so comfortable shoes are essential. Expect up to 10,000 steps during the day. A light rain jacket is also a good idea, depending on the weather.

If you're joining us for NARATION CURATIO the following day, please bring:

• a laptop with Lightroom installed

• a USB-C drive for transferring your photographs

Come prepared, but travel light.

The story matters more than the gear. Coffee shop visits is on me.

LIABILITY & PARTICIPATION

By registering for NARATION, you acknowledge that the workshop involves walking through the city, working in public spaces and carrying your own photographic equipment.

Participants are responsible for their own personal safety and belongings throughout the workshop. The organizer is not responsible for personal belongings that are lost, damaged or stolen, or for accidents or injuries resulting from the participant's own actions, negligence or failure to follow reasonable safety instructions.

Participants are expected to behave responsibly, respect other people and public spaces, and follow the instructions of the organizer whenever necessary for safety or the smooth running of the workshop.

ATTENDANCE & CANCELLATION

Places are limited and reserved specifically for each participant.

If you register but do not attend the workshop, the participation fee is not refundable, except where otherwise stated in the cancellation policy.

The organizer reserves the right to cancel, postpone or modify the workshop in exceptional circumstances, including severe weather or other circumstances beyond reasonable control. In such cases, participants will be offered either a new date or a full refund of the workshop fee - minus taxes.

By registering, you confirm that you are physically able to participate in a full day of walking and outdoor activities, and that you will use your equipment responsibly.
